CTD cast measurements from Kongsfjorden, Svalbard 2012-09 (SIOS Core Data)

The data are published as a part of the SIOS Core Data Curation Call, Project No: 2022_SCD_02.

The input for data processing are raw data coming from ship’s (R/V Helmer Hanssen) CTD (Seabird Scientific SBE 911). CTD casts were collected during mooring cruise as part of the "KROP - Kongsfjorden Rijpfjorden Observatory Programme" by UiT The Arctic University of Norway and The Scottish Association for Marine Science for maintaining marine observatory in Kongsfjorden in Svalbard.

The data contains following SIOS Core Data (SCD) variables: 4.5. Salinity, SCD 4.8. Water temperature and SCD 4.9. Chlorophyll concentrations.

The datasets consist of:

• Processed and manually reviewed CTD casts data binned into 1 m depth bins. Data is stored in NetCDF-CF files following the Climate and Forecast Convention v. 1.7 and the Attribute Convention for Dataset Discovery v. 1.3. Each cast is stored in individual NetCDF file.
• Instrument specific hex files accompanied by XMLCON files.

No salinity offset from bottle samples (salinometer calibrations) was applied.
